Vangarde Retail Park is taking shape

Caddick Construction has commenced the next stage build on restaurants and kiosks at the flagship Vangarde Retail Park in York.

Work on site is progressing, with the steel frames already erected on the main development which is set to become home to a flagship Marks & Spencer, Next and John Lewis store.

A number of new lettings have now been agreed bringing some well-known, family brands to Monks Cross, includingCosta Coffee and Frankie & Benny’s. Costa has agreed a deal on a 1,600 sq. ft. unit and Frankie & Benny’s will move into a 4,000 sq. ft. space in the kiosk and restaurant space. CBRE is advising Oakgate Group on the lettings and will be making further announcements on additional new occupiers shortly.

Richard France, managing director of The Oakgate Group, commented: “It’s great to see the Vangarde Retail Park taking shape. We have already completed some exciting deals, bringing John Lewis to Yorkshire, as well as top brands such as M&S, Next, Costa and Frankie & Benny’s. We have received a great deal of interest in the site and we are in the final stages of completing a number of other lettings to announce in the next few weeks.”

Throughout October, Caddick Construction’s team will be undertaking cladding to the steel frames and the floors will be laid with concrete.

Neil Lindley, projects manager, at Caddick Construction, comments: “We are delighted with the progress being made on site. The development is on schedule and by the end of October the retail units will be taking shape and fit outs of the individual stores willbegin.

“Over the past few months, the team has been working extremely hard to deliver each stage of the build in line with the programme. As well as the main site itself, the landscaping and roadworks surrounding the retail park are also taking shape.”
