Marston’s raises a glass to Middlesbrough expansion
Simultaneously with MacDonalds, Marston’s acquisitions team have acquired land A1085 Trunk Road, Eston, to develop a new pub/restaurant site at Normanby Road, South Bank, next to Tesco Extra and the new McDonald’s drive-through restaurantCaddick Civil Engineering Ltd are due to start on site later this month to construct the new access road for the new pub and McDonald’s drive-through restaurant.
The road is also planned to serve future Low Grange Urban Village housing development to the rear.
The new Marston’s pub will be called The Sandstone Nab and will provide space for 150 diners. This is part of over £5.5M development investment in the area by Marstons.
Both Pub & Driv thru sites are scheduled to open late autumn 2015.
Oakgate Group PLC represented the vendor,The Lady Hewley Charity Trust Company Ltd. Colliers International in Leeds acted on behalf of Marston’s for Eston.
Commenting, Rachel Newnes, Acquisitions Manager for Marston’s, said; “Marston’s Inns and Taverns currently operate four pubs in Middlesbrough and we are delighted to be bolstering our offering in Middlesbrough with two new sites in Eston and Middlehaven.”
